Base

   You can optionally also prime with Mechanicus Standard Grey Spray

   Sand & glue

   With PVA glue spread around the base, dip the base into sand. Be sure to wipe your finger along the side of the base to remove any stray sand. Make sure to give the base enough time to dry so give it about an hour minimum.

   Basecoat

   Now you can paint over the entire surface. Add a bit of water to the paint to make sure it flows into tight areas.

   Highlight

   Highlight lightly the textured base.

   Basecoat

   For this, water down the paint and run it along the edge of the base. Alternatively, if you want, you can use Dryad Bark instead.

   Tufts & grass

   For the next step, add pockets of PVA glue onto the surface. Then dip the base into some static grass to created grassy areas.

   I then like to add a tuft or two of grass to the base.
